Minutes of Meeting

May 1, 2012

President Yvonne called the meeting to order.

Mary E called roll.

Minutes had been read online by members.  JoPat motioned to accept and Jewel seconded.  Minutes accepted.

Treasurer Mary E gave the Treasurer’s Report.  Linda motioned to accept and Carol seconded.  Report accepted.

Secret Pal Chairperson Ginger McLin read the birthdays for May and June.

Sunshine Chairperson Debbie sent six cards.

Yvonne said that our Bus Chairperson Myrlene sent out an email with bus info updates.

Service Project Co-Chairpersons Linda and Jewel delivered pillowcases to CASA.  She said that the director from CASA would like to speak to us at a future meeting

Jewel said that she saw Paula Toups and we are not on her calendar.  Yvonne will call her tomorrow and see if we can still do workshop on June 16^th.  She will send an email once she has news.  Then we can collect the $10 fee from everyone attending at the June meeting.  If class goes as scheduled, it will be at the Presbyterian Church on Charles Street in Hammond from 9 am to 3 pm.  Bring your lunch.  Directions to the church and supply list will be emailed to you.

Yvonne read the directions for our next challenge from Lisa Wilson.  Danette will email to all and post it on our website.

Meeting adjourned.

Show and Tell.  Jo Pat showed three Wounded Warrior quilts.  One was made by her friend that had a special label on the back with the words “Thank you for your service”.

Mary E showed a cute baby quilt with animals on it.

Ginger McLin and Ro showed quilts they made from the Bright Hopes’ Snibbles class.

Marie showed blocks from a quilt in progress and a Wounded Warrior quilt top.

Sew What.  Carol showed how to make a small gift bag in the shape of flower petals.
